WHO WE ARE
Bicycle Tour Network is a service to touring cyclists provided by the National Bicycle Tour Directors Association (NBTDA). Founded in 1990 by a core group of ride directors from all over the United States, the NBTDA today represents hundreds of bike tour operators, owners and managers and lists many hundreds of multiy-day, non-competitive bicycle tours on this website.
Membership in the NBTDA is required in order to list your bicycle touring events here at www.bicycletournetwork.com. Membership information is outlined below.
The NBTDA makes no distinction between bicycle tours operated by non-profit organizations, commercial touring companies, or fundrising rides. Rides must be two days in length or longer and must be open to the general public. Racing or competitive events are not listed.
Membership in the NBTDA is open to individuals, businesses and organizations directly involved with the management of multi-day bicycle tours.
Membership fees range from $90 to $245 per year, depending on the size and duration of the event. (See membership dues table below.)
The NBTDA holds an annual conference that allows members and prospective members to meet and network with one another. The conference features speakers and break-out sessions on topics of interest to the bicycle tour director and staff.
WHY JOIN THE NBTDA?
Your ride or rides will be included on this website ... www.bicycletournetwork.com ... for viewing by thousands of cyclists each year in search of a quality bicycle tour.
You will have access to a Members Only area on the NBTDA website where you can communicate with other members and update your tour event information.
Although the NBTDA does not offer insurance packages directly, it does have a discount relationship with McKay Insurance, one of the leading event insurers in the nation. Members may obtain discount pricing from McKay Insurance.
By attending our annual conference, you will have the opportunity to enhance your knowledge of bicycle touring and best practices. Networking with ride directors from all over the U.S. and world is the best way to stay up to date on issues relevant to today's cycling community.
